2.4 fishing motor on a 1 pce exhaust plate

Putttin a 2.4 on a one pce Bridgeport exhaust plate. Have done it in the past, but wondering how everyone routes the water dumps. I dump off the head, remove the poppet and dump off it, and dump off one side of the exhaust plate. I have seen people dump off both heads, no heads and no exhaust plate dump. Merc hi po is normally head and poppet i think, Whats the best way?

1/8 inch fender washers in place of the thermostats dump off one head..remove the poppet entirely and dump off of that with a restrictor to get to your water pressure/temp delta. You may end up with the poppet dump plugged off.

Yea, that what i planned on doing. In the past i have dumped off the exhaust plate, but am not going to this time. I already have the 1/8 in washers in place of the thermostats, and the poppet is pulled with a 3/8 hose coming off of it. With the one piece plate that seems to be right. Thanks
