    Wire Size Question

I want to run a wash down pump intermittently for a unique application using (2) 12v batteries in parallel for an increased capacity as there will be no charging ability unless done remotely . Where the pump has a 5A fuse, what size wire should I use to connect the batteries together? I was thinking 12 GA would be fine?

12 gauge will be fine unless you use a high-amp battery charger on them, in which case you should disconnect them and charge them individually.

Google "BlueSeas wiring chart" download the PDF, gives you accurate wire sizing info if you know the amp draw, length of the run etc.... use it all the time at work for rigging boats.

Second washer , .500 into it for 4.500 with two over-rides, one for passin gear the other to wash the bird .. errr .. fish off the deck .. :-)

if it works, no need to replace, besides, you can throw things at it during the game and the screen won't break as easy.....

More important is how long the run is...but 14g would handle 5A with ease.
