Safe engine height without nosecone or water pickup
I have a 21 foot v-hull that i am rigging for the first time. Then engine has a standard water intake, how much of the water intake should stay under the hull to ensure sufficient water for cooling?
The hull has a 24 degree V, lift has 6" setback.

Most guys take them to the lake and run em. Keep raising motor till water pressure drops and that is your limit. You will likely be able to run with top hole well above bottom of boat. As water clears pad it goes pretty much as straight up as it can, dependent on speed of course, and with set back it will reach up there pretty high. Good luck.

On my current setup I run a standard lower with water catch plates on each side of the water intakes with the top two holes plugged. I can start to surface the prop and still maintain water pressure. Might want to look into something like that.

you gotta start with a water pressure gauge.

1-Water pressure
2-Temp
3-Handling
These would be my suggestion to work with.
Keep in mind all above could/will change or have an affect with LU used.
