I have a rough idle and cough through exhaust problem that I am trouble shooting. (This problem actually started a few years ago but I had to park the boat because of life issues)

Good compression on all 6 cyl. good gas and clean carbs.
DVA check of all 6 coils yielded only about 30 vdc on all 6 coils using starter. Further tests showed only 118 vdc on blk/ylw switch box leads using starter motor rpm.

Stator low speed tests came back good.
Stator high speed tests came back below limit at 18 ohms. Again only using the 400 rpm chart

ohm'd stator and it was 1,000 ohms lower than limit. Would you consider this a bad stator. 2445 ohms was my reading.

My other concern is that the white wire from the trigger got pinched pretty bad between the switch boxes. Probably from the last time I had them off. Could this cause an issue? The insulation isn't torn but it got smashed down pretty good....

motor runs good above idle.
