225 ProMax issue
Running a basically stock 225 ProMax with heads cut to 140 psi but otherwise stock. Ran a Brucato on it for a couple years and had a stator fail and didn’t run for a while. After replacing stator and get fresh fuel, plugs, filter etc... the Brucato box is extremely rich at idle. To a point that it will not run and is flooding out. Sent box back to Brucato and was checked out and given clean bill of health, but is still will not idle due to being so rich. I’ve borrowed a friends A17 box and boat runs great, idles clean and runs fine in all rpm range. I know these boxes work differently and I have checked everything and replaced air temp sensor, head temp sensor, stator, checked regulators with meter, reeds, map hose, Brucato box send back and checked, vst, etc... all the normal first check items.
if anyone has any additional things to check or ideas I would appreciate it. If I cant resolve it, I down to trying to locate a good useable A17 or A/R32 box.
thanks in advance, Nathan

Check your fuel pressure at schrater valve with motor not running should be around 35 psi , if it’s considerably higher ( 40 ish) you have a plugged return line screen and you motor will run very rich and lazy , to clean remove your regulator ring and the two large Phillips screws at the side of the regulator that will expose a small screen that may need cleaning , blow small screen with compressed air reassemble and check pressure if pressure lowers wa la you have fixed the issue , I had one that was 45 lbs and after it was cleaned it went to 34 lbs ...
Just another suggestion in the trouble shooting path ,
Good luck,
JayJay @ JSRE

Jay,
thanks for for the suggestion, but we have cleaned it already as well. Also made sure vst wasn’t bleeding fuel through overflow or through needle. Fuel pressure key on is 34 and pulse pump rebuilt as well.

Unless an injector was shorting ground
thats a tough one with them saying it’s good but not working and a stock working
i want to say maybe harness but it would or should affect both.
If if you have an scope you can hook it up and watch the wave pattern. Think a fluke 87 can be hock up to read a percent on. That would gave you something to goo off of when you decided to send it back.
Cant remember if their p or pwm doh.
