VIDEO !! 25 Liberator with Mercury 300R's
I finally finished and ran the boat today. I had 36" x 15.25 Hill 5 blade cleavers. The boat ran 9% slip and hit the limiter at 6450 at 115 mph. I'm going to run a pair of 38's next. I had the motors turning out, which normally has not felt the best. Today though, the boat handled like it was on rails. It took about 3/4 mile to go from dead stop to 115. Here's a video from today. If you watch the speed read-out, you can see it hit 115 a couple times, but it locked in at 114. Maybe someone can embed this for me.

Depending on setup, 109-114. The 300R's pull alot harder and top speed will go up once I get it off the limiters

Oh that's right, I forgot you said you were on the limiters... Just wondering the speed difference on a twin setup vs how much faster the new 300s are on the single...

Beautiful boat, great job Randy. I'm guessing 121 with the 38's

Motors are putting out 333hp according to some sources if it is a 300r. Most 300xs’s were 305hp or so stock. 2 more cylinders and another 25hp minimum = bad a$$.
Double Rigged
308 Skater w/400r’s

My head is spinning at the idea of 38" pitch props. Even if I had mega HP, I think my SS2000 would go sideways with that much pitch. Cool video, fun boat.

All the big cats run very high pitch props. I used to run 38's on a I/O cat. My buddy ran 40's. The slip ratio would go as low as 5%. I say run the big props.

The gears have picked up another 3 mph in extensive testing done on a mid 30 foot cat. This boat should run 122 range when all of the correct parts come together. Very impressive for 87 octane mild mannered outboards with big gear cases and close weight to the previous XS power
Guys better start paying attention-we have lost several in 24 skaters that didn't run anywhere near this and took way longer to get there. Speed factor is getting real....and these boats are not a good idea "just because you can afford it". I might sound like I am getting old but the fact is that its not worth dying for and inexperienced people need to hear it from someone. We are just getting started and look at the numbers that outboards are going to produce. I personally thrive on it but there is going to be absolutely no good results of people drinking, smoking, etc. and then running stuff with this acceleration and weight carrying capability "worries me to be honest".
