    Looking for a lower unit for a 1979 V6 175 HP

Looking for a lower unit for a 1979 V6 175 HP being used on an old ski boat. Trying to confirm what years will fit if someone knows please let me know. Having a little bit of an issue finding all the parts needed to rebuild current unit plus the expense is getting up there... So seeing if someone has a complete unit that is good to go and will bolt straight on that makes financial sense. Thanks.

Any 2.0, 2.4, 2.5 gear case will bolt on. Basically anything from 1976-end of 2.5 production whenever that was (2000-and something). You will want to find one with a 2:1 ratio for your motor. A later model unit will be an upgrade from your original which was a "top pin" unit.

SEI makes a new aftermaket unit (Chinese) that will fit also. Mixed results with these but they do have a good warranty...

Basically anything from 80's to early 2000's 150 hp will be 2:1 and bolt on...
