    1990 150XRi 2.5

Here is the problem... Starts and runs like a champ. Run about 10 minutes and stop will not restart. Just puffs smoke out exhaust, fuel pump runs, 35PSI at regulator, smells like its flooded,no rainbow on water, 40 amp system that putting out 14.3 volts @5600 RPM, spark jumps a 1/2 gap. To restart have to trim motor up out of water then it will hit and run and you can trim down and take off again ,just don't turn off!!!
Here what been done: rebuilt manual fuel pump, check float in VST, tried different ECU when it wouldnt start(before I found trim up deal)
Any other ideas or why trimming up makes it start????

How hot is it getting? Temp gun not buzzer sounding

    possible vapor lock -:/-

could be some kinds of wonky timing thing but it’s not likely

test the fuel psi when it shuts down. Since trimming will move the float and seat

Injectors may be out of whack. Its old and they are almost certainly in need of a clean/flow test. Maybe one or two is dripping and causing wet plug, but not enough to soak the water, just enough to make starting a hassle. Trimming up might stop the drippy injector from soaking the plug a little, enough so she starts. Once its up and running its using more fuel than the leaky injector offers so its moot. But on start up, blahhhhh

    Just a theory
