    225 Optimax Compressor problem

I lost a compressor on my 2003 OptiMax 225.I ordered an new compressor today. I took off the old unit I checked the air lines and didn't find any metal in there. I pulled the air injectors and didn't see an signs of metal there either.

I was reading that I should replace the "oil filters"; where are they located?
I also read that I need to "prime" the system afterwards. I saw it says to turn key on for ward to Neutral 5 times in under 10 seconds and this will activate the "break in procedure". I assume the engine need to be run after it is put into " break in" right? Can I do this on the flush house at the house idling? Cant I just "jump" the hot and ground wires going to the oil pump to prime the system? Im not worried about using extra oil, I just want to make sure I don't hurt the new pump on start up.

    Thanks for the help

One oil filter is just a white inline between onboard oil and pump.

Did id it come with new check valves the mainline pig tail and drains to cylinders

the breakin won’t count down under 1k rpm, and to seat the rings it’s best to operate it real world. Later models possibly yours as well won’t count down on the hose.

Should be be able to jump the pump but you really need the double oil for a while. Piston style isn’t worth jumping.

As for injectors depends on iff it was piston piston ring reed plate or crank and bearings. Parts can go go different places.

    Never hurts to clean them

might check the air muffler if pieces are there replace it and clean injection.

This is what I do....Put the throttle in fwd. With the key on, push the little white nub in the shifter track 5 times. (helps to have someone else turn the key on while you are ready to hit the nub) You should hear the oil pump clicking and see the level in the oil tank on the engine drop. Refill the tank. It will smoke a little for a few hrs. Run it normally, you are not breaking in anything but the air pump.

Countdown wont persist unless under load and above 3500 rpms. Theres 2 inline fuel filters before the compressor that should be changed also. Might as well get your air and fuel injectors done as well

If break in process with throttle is done right you will also hear fuel pumps running along with oil pump

If it's done right you shouldn't hear the fuel pump because you should disable power to them. Lol

But yes. The FP will run lol
