This one came from down there too. This is a real light weight car. NASCAR outlawed the 64's with aluminum front end, (the story I heard) so Chrysler made the entire front cap and doors about half as thick. Put your elbow on the fender while you are running the valves and you will have a dent! They were hell to get straight! Also had aluminum hardware almost every where and even aluminum door hinges. Also all the glass is about half as thick, less the windshield. Took me about two years to restore this one.

Two hoods one metal and one glass. BTW one of those hood scoops is metal.

Ironic as friend here doing a new clutch his 427 Cobra. It not a kit car either. Real deal, but was in a accident and need lot of work as parts. This Yesterday. I'll stop over there later, see if resurfaced flywheel ready....(still a Ford though, but I'll get over it...maybe!)

Little update the Cobra. 4 Machine shops turned down a resurface a Blanchard doing the flywheel as its a composite and would clog up the stone. Like grinding brass or aluminum. Have contacts and theres 4 known ready to sell. So the chase is on!

I beat on my new motor a little at the track tonight. Hard to believe my last pass in mid Feb was a 10.45 at 133.54. Tonight car ran 10.46 at 132.71. I did change a few parts. New block, crank, rods, pistons under the hood. Swapped the axles and driveshaft to stronger Demon parts. Car may have bracket race in its future.https://www.facebook.com/dave.martin...HXViQPT6fc4vxA

Yes I'm sure there will be some 13 second Mustangs there. It's a good thing, they help keep the lights on.
What powers the 6, 7 and 8 seconds cars .. yep Big block Chevrolets . 9 second cars . Small block and LS Chevrolets , with a few oddball's thrown in .. Just a fact of life
I ran my 1964 Comet B/FX clone at Milan and Ubly a few times, I was not real fast but a herd of modified Mustangs sure were fast. Big power is no secret, it’s all about money. You can buy a factory car that runs 10s now. Who would have believed it back in the day?

My Superformance Cobra in my signature ran 11.56 at Englishtown the one and only time I ran it. They black flagged me for not having arm restraints running faster than 12 sec. That was on radial T/A's and I drove thru the water box dumping a ton of water on my lane from my big wide front tires 351 windsor stroked to 426. Im sure with some slicks and better set up and driving around the water box and backing in it may have run in the 10's. Never should have sold it.
