Yep the hole size is very important thanks for your reply.....Can't believe Mercury wants around $160 dollars for the attenuator. I can cut the hole out with my water jet in about 5-8 seconds and keep the $160 bucks in my pocket.....I'm definitely not a "cheap azz", just smart about spending money on the right things.

At 4 1/4'' there is no attenuation going on. Maybe they just left it on there to hold the belt cover in place?

Doesn't matter, I'm to poor to pay attenuation.

My good man , please lets not leave the hyper-critical .011" out of the equation. It could be the difference between total distortion and a one-hit wonder ..

King, you know why that hole is there .. so the boys on the hill ( Merc Racing) can say they did something worthy of their decal and a couple grand price hike ..

The thing used to hold the air filter for the compressor too. They changed that to a muffler style and left the old hole open. That could mess up the flow too. Having an x-tra hole and all.

That little event could only be pulled off with the Fantastic Peeps on Scream & Fly. Glad to be part of it.

Thanks to Frank Mole and "Cannoli Team 1"
