This might be the fix. Just need to figure out what O-rings are needed. Or if the part number I posted earlier will work.

Yes sir , I'm sure we can work out some kind of deal ..
I'll PM you my Info ..
A lot of the cores we have been getting lately have had that new "salt-oil" in em ..
I'm down to only a few good closure caps. If someone doesn't send in a good one with their cylinder I have to have the Mrs turn all the rot out , I fill them in and she has a set of cutters that a tool and die maker here in town made up for us that cut's the O-ring , dust seal and snap ring seats . Can't buy em new .. and it's quite a bit of work to bring one back from the dead ..

Last night I removed the trim motor. I ran into my first snag. I removed the 5 bolts shown and I am not sure what to do now. My motor does not look like the one from the link I posted. Just below that center hole is a spot where you can stick an allen key down and turn something that never gets tighter or looser, I am assuming this is turning the motor itself because fluid comes out of either hole beside it depending on the direction you spin it

Mine was leaking and was soft and I couldn’t bleed it. I put in a half of a bottle of hydraullic pump stop leak and topped it up and no leaks and solid. It was screaming like a bansheee and now sound great and works perfect.

On the 3 ram system that falls.
After you have tried a new release valve and O rings
See Mercury parts diagram posted above
Part #9 , the Port Trim cylinder, has a bypass valve in it, to release the pressure when it reaches maximum Tilt.
That little check valve goes bad and is not serviceable. You will see that there is a little screen trying to protect it.
That is the cause of all your issues.

So what’s the fix? Clean the screen? I guess I’ll pull that apart and look. Might try the stop leak suggestions if it doesn’t fix it. Still wondering if anyone knows about the pictures I posted above of the motor and valves in there. I can’t take it apart. I must be missing something

Didn't read through the whole post but twice on different trims I had a problem where they went down either relatively quickly or overnight, and all it took to fix it was to replace the o-rings below the filler cover. I forget the size but you should be able to get something close enough from an o-ring supply company in an industrial area probably a lot cheaper than going OEM.
