    98 200efi

Is there anything different or special about the 98-99 200efi motors?

That was probably the last year, they had the digital EFI box on front of motor. It might have been the last year with head gaskets instead of o-ring heads. Anytime you have a MERC. question, include the serial #, That always helps on MERC,S

My question mostly pertained to performance compared to the other year 200 efi motors.

I just know they say for instance, take a 91 2.5 200 with 7 pedal or a 92 93, with 4/5 pedal , and that 98 will usually run circles round em , In stock forn

I believe they were mostly ff blocks. I know my 98 200 EFI runs very strong for a stock engine. Ported close to pro max specs I have heard.

    83 V-King, 96 Mariner, 200 hp ff block 2.5 w/a 28p choppa
