I only owned one thrust bracket in all the years I raced. It was a large single Acme threaded pin with a 90 degree y machined on the end. It fitted into a matching thread socket welded and gusseted to a plate bolted to the transom. It also included a large jam nut to hold the setting. This whole thing was done in Stainless Steel. I came on the Raveau I bought in 1965 and I think It may have been fabricated from some scrap pieces of material. The y section of the pin had a small chunk out of one side which did not affect it's use. I have been told one of the boats former owners may have gotten someone at the Key West Navy base to make this part. When I got this bracket it was using pieces of car tires to line the y section. I switched to solid nylon blocks and ran that bracket on every race boat I ever owned and a couple that I didn't own. Every picture of every race boat I have posted on these pages is running with that bracket. Ran it through 1976 when I stopped racing.
