I have yet to see a "single application" with 400R that impresses me. I do know of one coming together that will, but until he is up and running, the new 300R will run off on them. As mentioned above, if they had a pro-et (which is a 14.5 dia. propeller) and the 5.44 case, its a mess waiting to happen. If you are going to play with a fast V-bottom, keep it hooked up.

Two lucky guys, glad no one was hurt.

At the 2:22 mark in video he states he has blown it out more than 20 times!! That's crazy, sounds like he had plenty of warnings this boat was not running right. No way would I continue to run a boat that blows out like that until I figured out what was causing it to misbehave! I guess he learned the hard way that he had a misbehaving boat!

have no idea what this boats rigging details are...but the gearcase could simply have a case of the "crabs". and blow'n out cuz of it. who knows. agree with the prop diameter thing.

That video is a scary example of what could happen so quickly with no, or very little warning at those speeds. It seems that not too long ago, 100mph for a bay/river boat seemed like breaking the sound barrier. Now it's commonplace, which is just an example of how powerful production outboards are and how hull designs have evolved. I'm glad that this did not end as badly as it could have.

Yes, and when the bow drops suddenly, you get drastic bow steer and the stern comes around because the skeg is no longer in the water. If you look at the video, you can almost see that happen.
