Thanks for your concern but I would not put him in a 70mph boat without previous experience. He has had a boating license since 8, a snowmobile license since 12. Started out in sea fleas and has been in a 13' Voodoo that now does close to 60mph for 3 years now. I have also had him drive my Allison up to 70 or so with me in the boat. He has also been riding full size sleds on the trail since 12. Now at 15 he is close to 6ft tall and a very capable driver of boats, sleds and ATV's.

If he can drive a VooDoo and an Ally he can drive anything. 140 OMC might be enough.

If you want a very clean 1992 Mercury 135, I have one I am selling (not listed here yet). I have some 150 carbs for that extra 15 hp if you would want them. That is the only difference I believe. I have shipped motors before. Not overly difficult. PM me if you are interested. Won't give you 150 pro max performance, but it won't break the bank either.
Either way, I would go with a mercury v6.
