    Torq-flo safety issue

HAS anyone had any issues with hi speed surfacing apps, prop wobble, cracking? dont feel the insert is up to the task, i can rock the prop alittle too much, right before the nut tightens. i know the prop is against trust washer so why do i have side to side play, the nut cant control side to side thrust. only fore and aft movement. question; should tightening the nut, squeeze on the plastic, forcing it deeper into hub, or should a tap in be enough? turning a 26p running 78, small shaft dont want any surprises. comments welcome, thanks

If you are surfacing there is a different Flo-Torq hub insert that should be used.

You should have a castle washer or brass tube splined to the shaft the with a finger lock washer to lock the nut.

Yes the inner lip or step in the thrust washer should mate perfectly to the inner tube of the hub the sacrifice piece slides into. It controls endplay. The castle washer or splined insert control the other end.

Theirs also a full length brass that contacted the thrust washer but used with the wrong props allows them to slide up and down the shaft.

I didnt think ft 1 was available anymore. 2 is sutible just noisy to some people. 3 and 4 are the same just different hp

3-4 sound horrible on the surface.

To run surfacing props like Trophy 835257K6 is the hub kit you want. It has a stepped plastic cone that goes between the thrust washer and plastic hub insert to help support the prop. The torque is 75lb/ft vs 55lb/ft.
