Sea Foam is wonderful stuff!
Ive got an 89 Merc 2.5 I winterized with sea foam last October. I went to start it yesterday and on the first try after 3 seconds cranking it fired right up! The way I did mine was with sea foam in a squirt gun and mixed heavy in the gas. I shot a few squirts down each carb while running and shut it off, then a few shots down each plug hole. It works well as a rust inhibitor on tools too. Living right next to the ocean thats an ongoing struggle.

I’ve been hearing a lot of similar experiences about Sea Foam but I never used it. I don’t think I know much about it, though. I’d be interested in the experiences of others as well. I’ve read many times that people use Sea Foam in their car engines as well, which is something that seems like it could cause issues with engine sensors.

I use it all the time.
Greg, it will clear a clogged injector in a car!
I use it way stronger than recommended too.
Whrn I buy a car, O/B etc, I dump a whole can in it.
It wats carbon off of 2 stroke piston rings too.
Use iron the spray can as James described, but try to flood it out/stall it.
Let it sit over night then fire it in the morning and watch what comes out the exhaust.I'd rather be competitive w/junk I built in my garage than win w/stuff I bought.
I refuse to allow common sense to interfere w/my boat buying decisions.

I use sea foam in everything from my lawn mower to my outboard. It works! I compare it to quicksilver or mercury quickleen.

Local to me was a 3.5 hp 2016 4 stroke outboard I wanted to pick up for my sailboat, guy wanted 200 bucks and said the carbs needed to be cleaned due to lack of use. I read all about the Sea Foam and was going to try it, curious myself. I ended up passing since these tiny outboards are cheap to buy new.

The only negative to it is the high alcohol content but it sure is a great system cleaner. I always have it in stock.

As a proffessional technician I've used Seafoam for decades. It's repaired many running issues in both 2 and 4 cycle engines without having to disassemble anything. I also use it as a preventative in all my current vehicles.

Had a small shop marine tech tell me about seafoam quite a few years ago, told me to run it in the fuel, get engine up to temp then let it cool completely. When you start it on the muffs in the yard, watch the **** that comes outta the exhaust! It is a great deposit cleaner it seems lol
