Merc 200 carb water leaking out of motor mount covers? Help
1997 mercury 200 carb motor.
Need some opinions on what the problem may be.
Last 2 times out it's been melting the prop hubs.
On the muffs water is coming out of the motor mount covers. With the lower unit removed and a hose hooked up to the copper tube that transfers the water through the midsection water is still coming out. I can hear the copper tube fill with water to the top and then start to leak. No visible sign of the copper tube having any holes in it. Any ideas? See pics

Looks like you have a blockage in the mid section. How much water are you getting up to the power head?

The mid is rotted out behind the mounts from saltwater.

Getting plenty of water out the pissah
How would there be a block in the mid? The only transfer in there is water via the copper pipe up to the power head?
Corroded from salt water is possible but that water should still not be leaking out, it would have to be coming from the copper tube or the rubber seal where the copper tube connects to the powerhead?
Water coming down the mid should only be through the exhaust portion of the mid section, its leaking out the forward portion housing the driveshaft and copper tube

I have engines (2.5 and 3.0) that send water out a hole just above the actual mount itself. I just run them and don't get too concerned about it. I have changed power head gaskets etc and no difference, I gave up. As long as you don't get an overheat situation, I would just run it. The prop melting thing may mean that there is not enough water coming out the poppet valve. This usually gives a high water pressure number on the gauge and very strong pisser pressure. Also will melt your water pump. jm2cts...
