2001 mercury Optimax 135hp comprssor
On this year Optimax I have read about issues with the compressors. If compressor was replaced with the good ones, what color were they? I remember reading the good part was red or blue? Which is the “right one”. Thanks, mike

If you have an 2001 with the original. And any hours. It’s one that isn’t going to fail or just short of failing.
Last i I saw was blue. Black is original or block painted color.
A few mechs around here started blaming the main line to compressor check ball. A bad one flows backwards on the piston down stroke starving the bearings of oil.
We also blame the pulse pump hose leaks for bad #6 hole and check offten for leaks.'06 Tracker All-Fish/Tournament V-18 90 Optimax, 46.8 gps Goal one complete reach 45 mph.
