Nic motor threads

A few weeks ago there was discussion about sending Nicom motors to US Chrome for replating and the importantance of protecting the block threads from the stripping solutions used at US Chrome with SS set screws well just built a Wisconsin Drag motor this week it came in with studs in the block which I’m NOT a fan of , the studs were noting more than a grade all thread , coarse on both ends ???? Now there is no way to gain a correct accurate torque value with a coarse thread ... Well I junked the all threads and ordered correct bolts , there was a reason the former owner ( not the owner now ) had them installed about half were eat out ( no female block threads ) and was from someone not protecting the thread , I repaired the suspect threads with my go to fix “Time Serts” one was cracked all the way down the thread boss had to use “Big Sert” , these make helicoils look like a cave man repair , guaranteed if you try em you’ll never go back and you don’t have to stack the repair they can be ordered in the correct 1”.200” length a little pricey but once repaired your done ...
