No more WILDMAN? ALMOST !
Well I have been thinking about this for a few days now. It was almost the end of Renee and I Thursday night. We were on our way from the Knoxville airport to our cabin in Pigeon Forge, TN about 11 o'clock. As we were driving down the divided 4 lane Highway (411) coming from the Knoxville airport, I noticed some very bright headlights coming towards us. At the last second I jerked the steering wheel to the right and missed an oncoming car driving the wrong way by about 12 inches. Speed limit was 60 so that would have been about a 120 mph head-on crash. I rarely get shook up about anything but there is no way that could've been non fatal for everyone. I heard a couple days later that there was a wrong way head on collision on that same road at 4:00 in the morning.
You just never know when your time is up. Glad it wasn't ours!" IT'S NOT HOW FAST YOU ARE, IT'S HOW COOL YOU LOOK!!! "

Wow, glad you're alright, my wife and I just discussed this very topic and what we would do if someone was going the wrong way.

Had some bank robbers try to intentionally head on my wife and I on 29 near 41. I was pulling a boat and they had the cops chasing them, I could see the guy steering over the centerline with a girl fighting him over the steering wheel. They veered left and I went left at the last second. It happens so fast, he was doing over 100. He rolled and flipped. I brought the rig to a safe stop. Both died. My wife peed herself and I was just pissed off. The cops said they had shot up a place in Naples and had been on the run. I know how scary it is to have some idiot try and kill you.......Glad you and the missus are ok. Sure changes your outlook on life.

Good MOVE, 20 years ago I'm on interstate 75 and I see this Dodge pickup coming across the median at a diagonal (they now have a steel cable barrier going thru center of the median) I start taping the brakes to slow down the stream of cars behind me, when I knew it was imminent he was going to hit the Ford van in front of me (that did not seam to see the Dodge) I turned into the grassy median area, in total amazement I saw the full size van do a full 360 and land back on it's tires, the van was full of tools and they exploded like a grenade, I turned back onto 75 and called FHP.

Glad to hear you avoided your near miss Randy - let this conversation be a reminder to always be aware of traffic - an example is a simple intersection , just because you have a green doesn' make it safe untill you have scanned for a sniper running a red or a big problem seems to be distracted drivers making driving with them a very unsafe environment. You really have to be on your game - constantly scanning and being prepared for an emergency maneuver. Glad to see you spoke out and reminded us a simple trip can be life altering - driving defensively - safely - adhering to conditions following the law is a constant practice . As I grow older I prefer a greater distance between vehicles as a better reaction time is gained and am always scanning in an effort to avoid an event . Glad to hear your skillsets are high and your around to remind us all . Welcome home

Glad you guys are ok. Wonder if the fool was trying to commit suicide, since a similar accident occurred on the same road at a later time. You never know what folks have on their mind.

He swerved at the exact same time as us, so I don't think so. I was so rattled that I never looked in my mirror to see if he ended up in the median.

We’re all glad you and the wife are ok but more than we are glad you are taking some time off from sanding, painting and rigging your fine boats. Now get back in the shop.

One of those reminders of how fortunate we are to be alive and well. Enjoy each day, remind those you love how much you love them. Its a short ride and its best driven with purpose, passion, and commitment. Hope y'all have a fun fast boatin season. I can hardly wait to get on the water
