Matthew update : what we learned yesterday.
Angie got to see x-rays yesterday and found out Left leg isn't broken, only the right side. We aren't quite sure why they told us both at the time and why all the rods and pins in both. Anyway he will be getting the external rods removed Friday and will start plastic surgery with getting skin and muscle on Monday and Tuesday. They said it would take pretty much all day both days and I think just the right one will have pins and screws internally and the left does not get anything but plastic surgery. He's already trying to invent some things that he could build for his hospital bed to make this a better experience *♂️. He's back to being him.
Continued prayers are needed but everything is looking pretty good.Bud Conner "Heathen" "Defending Our Constitution"

Matthew update from Monte Skinner: left foot skin Graft started Tuesday. He's back in ICU to watch it. Going to get a plan for right foot today. Slow process from here out. Surgeries and more surgeries.
The right foot is the challenge so they are gonna take some thigh muscle to replace what is missing.Bud Conner "Heathen" "Defending Our Constitution"

Matthew update from Monte: been holding out on this one, hoping for a change. His right foot continues to have issues and was gonna have to take some back muscle and try to Graft but it still wasn't a for sure thing that it could be saved so he decided to do away with the problem. They are gonna take it off above the ankle Monday and his recover time will be cut way down and may get to go home end of next week.
On the bright side. That will be the most modified, welded on, cut up, rattle can finished, bent up prosthetic foot you've ever seen but I bet it works better and goes faster than factory and probably on methanol if he can figure out how to crank it.Bud Conner "Heathen" "Defending Our Constitution"

And whatsoever ye do in word or deed, Do all in the name of the Lord Jesus, giving thanks to God and the Father by him. Colossians 3:17
Prayers to you & your family continue, even with the lost of the foot but most importantly you are still alive so keep moving forward Our sport has lost too many good people like yourself over the years that were always looking for ways to keep it going & moving forward...

Matthew update. Left foot Graft is looking good.
Right foot procedure was complete Monday and performed a bridge procedure to help with a prosthetic. He was in a lot of pain Monday and Tuesday was worse but he slept pretty good this morning and is way off pain meds down to just a few pills.
Saturday is a big day to get the left foot external fixture off and start dangling his leg off the edge of the bed and start working it some. The right side will be a couple of weeks before the staples come out and start fitting for a CRT modded foot. The worst is over and at this rate they are talking about him getting to go home first of next week. He's in good spirits and ready to get out of there and back in the shop. Don't stop the prayers, lots of road and challenges ahead but he's getting there.
I think the doctors are about ready for him to leave, he's started telling them what to do and what not to do *♂️
Bless it

Matthew update from Monte. We grabbed a whopper in the drive thru and got him home. We weren't home 10 minutes when he figured out how he needed his engine hoist to help him in and out of his wheelchair. He'll be confined to the chair for about 4 more weeks before he can start applying pressure. Right leg gets staples out next week and fitted for that gas pedal foot. He's doing great, just gonna take time to get it well and back to regular life (which has never been regular)
Check out those shorts I got him to leave with, they didn't have anything brighter
