There is so much wrong with this video, its unbelievable. Why not tie the motor up? Why are you taking a kid on a sea trial? At least the bloke had a crescent wrench. Good lord.

Yeah, but probably the same price to get towed 30 miles back home as it is to send a diver out to retreive the engine. Engine really not worth getting back anyways, went down screaming, probably broke a lot of internal parts and the salt water destroyed everything else. only ting salvageable would be the prop and lower unit.

I agree, Im sure the motor was running when it ingested water. But I would have limped it back to shore since I was in a RIB.

They dropped in fairly shallow water, prob about 30' deep there

That verado just went where it belonged.

I love the commentary in the background. "Any other boat would have flipped over, capsized, broke in half, caught fire, this is the best boat ever!!"

I know a retired cop that is in a world of pain because of many years of offshore patrol, what we think would be a gravy has been his downfall.

    That suspension system is trick.

Torque wrench, locking stainless nuts, red locktite for good measure. If seriously in doubt, aircraft safety wire. I use torque wrench on everything these days it has upped my end game of builds ten fold. Hardly ever have mystery fails anymore. Who'd a thunk it, until ya sunk it

That port motor looked lower on the trans from the start. I bet it was loose from the get go and just vibrated the rest of the way off.
