Doing a quick search it looks like the choice's of large CC vintage street legal 2 stroke enduro's is, Suzuki TS400 and Yammy DT400.

Open the purse! Slap lights on and any these (had a 74 CR250 "Elsie") cops never catch ya! Friend mine in the 70's had a CZ Enduro, and he could stand it up at 70 mph. Think 2 strokes kinda stopped at 500, (or the Kaw H2 750 rattle can wheelie king, also widow maker, as knew 2 friends with them, and both killed by left turn cage but hard to spot a MC aimed at the sky..
    Link the many then!

Bad thing about the early ones (‘70’s) is they had **** suspensions.

Once into the ‘80’s they were much better. Popular ones were Yammi DT (I think) 200’s. Kawai had similar but not sure either one was street legal.
Saw a IT 490 at vintage days at Mid Ohio that was set up for street and owner said it would run 100!

I’m sure the current KTM 300’s are way better bikes but want to stay vintage.
When I searched the subject a site came up that offered to get titles for any bike, any state.
    $200 - $300.

Also watching the big thumpers too but really want s 2 stroke first, while they’re still affordable.

Almost bought a Honda XR 600 that surely would be a gas.
I'd rather be competitive w/junk I built in my garage than win w/stuff I bought.

man, so many pages to process. due to occasinal alochol intake i'm not sure if I replied to this thread, if i did it wouldnt suprise me. I bought a scooter, 50 cc. terrrifed me as kids would try and intimidate me because I could't get out of their way, like "ha ha " your on a 35 mph scooter. pissed me the F off. solved that, got a BMW K 1200RS. this FN thing will do 35 mph in 25 feet.

Talk BS all you want... but I went to an AMA National Drag Race event at Houston Raceway Park and ran my BBR 85cc Fiddy through 8 rounds to lose to my shop hand racing his!!! We were in an 9-second Bracket class and the builder of my Hayabusa's 1420 stroker held me out to dry... So when the Tech guy at HRP told me if I could find one other person to run a Fiddy and we could trip the lights faster than 30 seconds, we could RACE!!!

I now have "Grown Up" after cashing my last of the 9-Lives on my Yamaha R1 and have bought a Connie14. I love this bike... it is SO comfortable yet stupid fast!

    Cool Sunday Morning Ride...

THIS is why I had to stop street riding...

The bike is a 2006 Suzuki Hayabusa with a 1420cc Carpenter race motor, TiForce Titanium full exhaust (weighs 9 pounds total), GSXR1000 front forks and Brembo Calipers loaded with custom springs, BZ Carbon Wheels and 195/55 rear tire, Ohlins rear shock, SRAD rear swingarm which is 3/4" shorter than the Hayabusa arm, 18-tooth front sprocket and o-ring chain.

At the 3-minute mark of this video... I pass my friend on his 2005 Yamaha R1, the bikes in front of him were a 2006 ZX10R and Honda CBR 1000RR. On a Sunday Morning Ride we were the pack leaders... there were probably 25+ bikes behind us that got left behind on these West of Houston county roads. If I was pinned in 6th, my limiter speed was 212mph and I earned my 200 MPH patch at Maxton in 2006 at 203.63mph.

    Enjoy!

Those FM roads are so long, relatively straight, and some what predictable. My old Sporty would be worthless there.
Buddy of mine had a Busa, lived in Mathis, TX. Spent a few winters down there. Anyways, I put some kind of pipe's on it for him, and a Power Commander tuner and geared the thing down. They came from the factory governed at 187 mph, and were way under using their entire rpm/gear range. I somewhat tuned it to bring it into a shop, that was like pulling teeth for my friend to actually pay a professional. But man, what a freeking rocket. I rode that thing many of times and could still not use all of the power. Just freeking intense.

Get back up north where I am at. Even if they have something with power, they do not know how to run it. Kind of sad, sprinkled with a little bit of pathetic.

I have accepted (at 60 yrs old) that I ain’t as fast as I once was and that my balls have a bit less control over my brain as they once did.

That being said......., I did teach my son-in-law to drag race last time we rode.
    He had been asking to
Beat him 4 out of 5

I really like this and it’s local.

Looks like it would be a fun bike. Not a 2 stroke but those thumpers are fun little torque machines.

On fast riding? Damn, had a friend from HS that lived West Virginia. Sport biker on the best roads there as FAST sweepers. Had a VR800, a V Max. and a Busa. He sent me a 45 minute vid that WAS INSANE SPEEDS! Like the Tango vid. Guy on the back vidding it so could see speed. 4 in front, and DAMN, town shows up and a 35 MPH sign flys by and there doing 70/80! Then on the open roads those LOOONG sweepers max lean, and all 3 digit speeds. I sent it to Sue here S+F (Phils other half) to put on youtube, but it was copy righted (and GREAT speed music too). And I asked Charlie "what about the cops"? He said the guy filing WAS A COP!
He even talked me into buying a CBR1000F off a guy there that had to stop riding with a bad back. $3000 and $700 ship and here. Real beast. But WAY out my league as used too Harleys. I had to sell it later as I simple could ride it just fine (trust yer stickies), but my right wrist has a mind of its own, and as much as "it" likes fun, I saw my self going to jail! (Reason I sold my Vette too.. and stick with the boats).
But "Chic" (what we called him HS) all said for decades "he's gonna get killed on those bikes". Nope, as he KNEW how to ride, and a Moto GP freak too! And he also raced bicycles, and a master tennis player as a decorated Nam Vet! Well, he passed at 65. HOW! He went with others a morning blast ride, then home and was to show the tennis courts later. Never showed up. Went the house and found him as passed in his sleep on the couch, Moto GP racing on the tube. Way to go ! RIP "old man" (the people there said "don't race the "old man, you will lose!)

Good thing after 60 plus years the road, gave up as age and health said "nuff". Good thing as I get to miss crap like this road and the not pay attention road as "WTF is that POS"..
