    Scooters.......

Always liked the older stuff and it’s getting too cheap to pass up.

The Suzi came back from Fla w/the Checkmate motors and just picked up the ‘1984 Honda Nighthawk yesterday.

Hondas version to my ‘1985 Suzuki and near identical.

Both Harley tarrif era 700cc bikes.

Interesting though that the Suzi is a 5 speed/chain and the Nighthawk is a 6 speed/shaft.
    Way smoother at speed.

A neighbor up in Boca had a honda 1100 cc 80's I don't know exactly but that thing ran like a stripped as$ ape and it looked innocent. It was a beast. I like that honda looks super clean. Rick

The old bikes did not handle that good, I remember street racing with friends in the country one day, 1979

My XS1100 Yamaha went into a speed wobble at 120 mph next day I was at the dealer installing air conversion for the front end,

I remember getting beat up from the wind on those naked bikes, pulling into a rest area and laying on the ground because my neck was locked up from wind pressure.

Never sell my 2011 ZG1400 Kaw, you fly down the interstate in a air bubble, trucks don't move you at all, windshield goes up 7inches touch da button.

Rick, the old muscle bikes (early ‘80’s) are way fast by my standards.

My 35 yr old son-in-law is just getting into bikes and as I told him, about mid/late ‘80’s the bikes started getting faster than I was.
So even when they were new, I always knew they’d make great used bikes later.

Cuda, mine were never designed for freeway riding.
But, take your land yacht and keep up through town or in the hills.
BTW, 400 lbs and 80 HPs. That’s 5 lbs per.
    Im OK w/that.

The guy I bought the Nighthawk from also had a virgin ‘2000 Kawi Concours.
Told him if I rode more I would have bought it too.

BTW, I could sell both mine, this weekend, for twice what I’ve got in them,
    How bout you?

Used jap bikes REAL cheap now, Harleys too! Had this CBR1000f for awhile, but I'm not a sportbike monkey fuk fan. Past speed limit 1st easy (geared for HW fast sweepers, just trust your stickeys!) and a real BEAST! I was gonna end up both us both getting impounded, so let it go. I got a heavy hand and foot! Life don't start to get real until after 100, but you guys know that! And I still like my old Shovel...

had a 1990 cbr 1000 & a 92 fzr 1000 ,the cbr was a tank for sure but very reliable & comfy on trips.the fzr was light & fast for it"s day but was a torture rack . sold both & bought my VFR & never looked back.she is sitting in the garage 21 years later , ready to ride anywhere & still in near mint condition.Keeping a lookout for a Triumph Thruxton these days to add to the collection.

Just back from the bike shop, w/the son-in-law looking at new bikes.
Dealership is huge and has everytjing but Harley and BMW and the bike that gets me every time is the silver/gold Triumph Thruxto s.
Clearly not the fastest but light, nimble, gorgeous and looks like an absolute blast to ride.

Triumph as a whole, has a hell of a line up.
    Very impressive.

Robby, I had an identical Cb 1000 Hurricane while in Fla.

    Jr, bad ass!

Had all these while in Fla.

Amazingly, the lil Kawi KZ 400 was the most fun.
    Best wheelies of the three.
Found out that two banger motor is 1/2 of a Z-1 900 and why it runs so good.

The 1000cc Hurricane was shapr but had a pipe that it wasnt tuned for and was a pig.

The GPZ 1100 was gorgeous but also had a pipe it was not tuned for and also a pig.

So far it looks like the little GS 700 is the fastest of the bunch.
