Looking for a custom Setback plate builder
Ok so I have run into an issue hoping someone could point me in the right direction. I have a 209TE gambler and the transom has an oddball bolt pattern. I bought a Bobs Action jackplate and can't mount it without some sort of adapter. Problem is a 4" setback plate will be too big. Sooo I am trying to find a 2" static setback plate where I can have the mounting hole drilled to match the bolt pattern of the boat. I can't just drill holes in the bobs because where the holes would go the holes would actually be within 1/16" of the edges on the plate.
I could just U channel the holes if that makes sense but I think that would affect the safety of the hole thing. Apparently gamblers came with a few oddball bolt spacings. This one is a square with 12 3/16” wide pattern.Last edited by strat250; 03-24-2019 at 08:43 PM.

Not familiar with the boat. But wouldn't it be easier to close up the original holes, and drill new ones?

Yah, that’s what I’m doing, I will drill new holes for the bottom of the plate then for the top ones will use the stock location on the jack plate and fill and drill new holes in the transom. Had a good chat with rowboat and this seems like the easiest option.
