Steering ram seal leak
On my Mach22 The seal is leaking on my steering ram and was wondering if i can just undo the hydraulic hoses and take the ram to get repaired? I’m not sure how difficult it will be to fill the system with fluid after either. I have a Teleflex steering system.

surely it rebuildable,i have never done that type.Try to google or youtube it.once you get seals out, make sure there is no nicks or pitting on rod, then go to local hydralic shop and have them matched up.its easy

I did mine. Seals readily available at your professional hydraulic shop. Wont be able to match them up until disassembly. Had to machine half clamps out of aluminum to hold the cylinders in a lathe. Easy if your a machinist. Easier to have your hydraulic shop just take care of it. Cap your lines when removing with cap nuts....fill each end of cylinders for installation...keeps the air out mostly.

I am having the same problem. I used a seal for a showa trim cap. It’s really close to the same od of the steering ram.im going to use my lower unit leak tester and pressure it up before I mount it back up. Hey Sunkist were you able to find a wiper that will work and is there a chance you could get some kind of part number for me. Thanks in advance.

YEAH, i have the used seals and some numbers ill get tonite. theres like 4 seals per cylinder. you heat them up in hot water before installing because there so tight and easily damaged, if you do it yourself i just buy 2 sets incase one gets dammaged installing.
