I JUST have to chime in on that 2.4 v/s 2.5 hot rod. my2.4 220, not running at present, stock i believe, was only a little slower than my now225 pmax. 2.5 has 1'' spacer, reeds and 150 psi. runs great, but not the power i was expecting, from all the hype associated with this motor. its 10 yrs newer than my 2.4 the 2.4 just has a drilled mid, mounts, acu/ laser. 140 psi. maybe i gained 3-400 rpm, same rig, same prop? maybe i had unrealistic expections. im 99% sure both motors are basically in stock form. i know the 2.4 is, i know the orig. owner. also the pmax has run 87 on last boat. maybe my mag-cat has hit its limiter! too funny!

It's got the horn with the single throttle body and one piece orange heads. No alternator so I can rule out a 280. 20in mid with a single ram trim. That's all I really know

thats probably good enough.. probably early 260 with some "slight" problems.. gonna be quite a few $$$ ta fix everything.... will be a build date on other side either at base of number two or flange of block half... might be a serial number there also..

I was thinkin 260. Its been laying in the back of a truck for years uncovered so I figure the electronics are shot and with that rod wadded up inside there wont be many parts if any that will be savable

For one piece plates I like to run the Bridgeport one piece on 2.4 200’s with the Bridgeport tuner.
What you have will work though.

i really cant say. i would have kept the 220, just not dependable, probally something stupid, think it was bad primer bulb started everything to go downhill. ill give the pmax one more run, no other changes and see. i did change the primer bulb so there be no excuses. i figured i would have to prop up but dont look that way. i think the 220 is prop H.p.? both motors have great comp #? i just cant get a calm day 4 a fair test.
