    Wh-18 on horizontal reed 2.4

My original motor was a verticle reed 2.4 200. I put the carbs on my horizontal 200 that has 4 petal reeds and cherry 2.4 mods. The .062 jets seem small. Everywhere I look I see guys saying 86 88. Is there something internally different on these or should I jump up. Or find a set of 22's.

    Thanks

Wh 18s were round bowl carbs if I'm correct , the 2.4horizontal came with 74 and 76s in the 22s, them merc moved em up to 80 82 I believe ,,, if it's on a mod 2.4. With horizontal, then 62 would seem like it would melt it down
What's the mods for the horizontal 2.4?

Windowed pistons, cut heads, cut chest, .050" decked front, intake port matched to reed blocks and radiused sharp corners. Are the major things I can think of.

Are the 22's square bowls? Is there more volume? Reading on cor racing web page all carbs with 1374-5427 cast in have the same venturi but it would also lead me to believe that they are the same raw casting and machined differently.

22’s should be square bowls. Round and square bowls are interchangeable, the carb casting is the same. If you drill and add the primer fittings to the bottom two carbs on a round bowl setup you can convert to the enrichiner system. I made a post about it a few years ago, a search would probably pull it up...

Well I'm going to grab a set of 34's tomorrow. The 18's had an enricher that fed from top carb to bottom 2. I'll have my new switch boxes and be able to fire it up. Was running on 5 for the first fire.

I have them in the 34's right now, they were .068 and #5 was something else can't remember. I was going to drill them out cause I'm impatient and want to start breaking it in this weekend. You can go on Amazon and get holley air bleed jets for ~$15 for 8 and they are the "Same".
