    Gel coat question?

Anyone know a good way to remove the (yellowing) on the bottom of my white boat, I've tried some less harmful cleaners, just wondering if they could share. Thanks again

Can try deoxidizer something like mixing ammonia and denatured alcohol with warm water.

Fter that if not to deep can try buffing.

If a repair your not aware off nothing might might work but refinishing

If it staining from water, try Iron out spray from home depot or lowes. Not as nasty as on/off and works great. If not FSR, (fiberglass stain remover) works too, not sure where to get it, west marine maybe. if its more than staining, and actually yellowing of the gel, cut and polish is the next step.

C2H2O4. Oxalic acid. Spray on, let it sit for a minute or two, rinse off. Mask off aluminum to prevent streaking.

This has oxalic acid, way cheaper than West Marine.

.... or buy 5lbs of oxalic crystals for $15 off Amazon, mix 9-12oz crystals per gallon of hot tap water and apply with a garden sprayer.

Correct, but it’s 4x as expensive as the one I posted. $5/16oz vs $10/128oz.
You can start buying the one I posted, then send me the surplus money. Win/win. For me anyway. Lol

I didn't check the price. At Lowe's I thought it was cheaper. Like 5$ but I could be wrong. But regardless oxalic acid works great.

It just mix like recommended. My not be oxalis but it’s one of the rust cutter acids. Merry maids version. I just happen to know the base mix.

Would all of the above work for whitening on colored gel coat? If not, what chemical (and process) should I use?

Sometimes, but not on uv/sun fade. That takes a buffer and enough gel that it can be cut.
