2000 mercury 225 efi yard running

things are warming up and getting the fleet in order. my merc 225 has factory lwp in the bullet. will it run off the water muffs, or do i need to submerge the lower unit?
    thanks

you need to block the 4 holes on the bullet to use muffs. Why not use the flush on the motor by the exhaust on the lower cowl?

is your 225 a 3 liter? If so this is a pic of your exhaust plate and you have a fitting on part number 20 which has a hose fitting where part number 24 is

This was specifically not recommended on 2.5s

Probably the reason the 2.5 exhaust plate does not have this feature.

Go look- later model stuff certainly does have the flush port. One of the reasons listed was water pump would be run dry.

Any way on the 3.0 you can run the motor up to 1500 rpms on flush attachment . On my X we have to run muffs and on the flush attachment to keep it cool on the dyno.
