    40 vs 16 amp motor

Hello. Is there a way to tell a 40 amp from a 16 amp motor?

I bought a merc 2.5 200 powerhead a little over a year ago. The owner had two, a 16 and 40 amp. Cant remember if i bought the 40 or 16...it was a repower from merc with build date of aug 2003. I wanna say i took the 40amp but unsure.

I need a 40amp for the fishing boat.

Dunno if these pics can tell what it is.

    Thnx
