I believe one cannot delete the "total hrs" on a 280 ECU but the run time hrs can be reset, which would be done if somebody rebuilt it and wanted to know the total hrs on rebuild. I would assume that would be the reason why these numbers don't add up. If I'm wrong I revert you to my avatar

On some ecu's for some reason rpms between 7000-8000 don't record hours mine 280 showed like no time and i know that's so so wrong lol

a 280 and never turned over 6000 who believes that? not possible .3000 /3999 shows 24 hr cruising what at 40 mph i get that .but nothing above that ??? what boat was the motor on? think the ddt is a bit kilter

They are not always right the ddt and ECU my grandsport has less a hour run time on it over 7000 rpms but yet I've hit the rev limiter over 1500 times lol I did buy a 280 with 115 hours on it it never saw the rev limiter or 7 grand most were idling or under 4000 when the motor was taken apart did a leak down test first all the cylinders were 2% except for one was at 3 still had Factory side pin Pistons the motor looked super clean inside and none of the cylinders had to be straightened still straight the engine builder give it a light hone and put it back together with new top pin Pistons that is a very very rare case but it can happen
