Damn, bringing up old mems Flatty V-Drives 70's/80's, as buddy mine had a Howard Flatbottom, 396 Hemi it and no "gears" as direct drive. Fire and doing 20mph! Then another gearhead known me had a jet boat GT170 (?) with a jet. So we go out a " wanna race that pig" race, both us 4 in the boats. I'm in my Switzer SS17/XS1500. Sure he gets on plan fast, us finally "OK, off the bow forward lean, OK go sit down sit down" shut up as Tilt up now and grab water and scoot. So we pair up at 35mph, So its full foot, his jet is "Jetavater (sp) up. So catch and pass damn quick, and layed off the foot. But that SOB GOT US! He kept going and cut in front us and I SAW that "fire hose water coming"! Told the GF front ''DUCK"! Couple in back never knew what hit them! Ya never been hosed from a jet boat? Think its nothing at if hit doing same speed? HA! Hell a boat wash as all get a free shower too! Stupid was fun then!
