Todd has brought the quality Way UP from The original Taylor days. Even from his first batches that werent to bad. They still need some Cosmetic work and pin hole filling. But nothing drastic like before.

Me: This adapter plate either needs replecing or repaired. It stands a chance of not properly sealing.

Customer: Can you just coat it and let my Husband deal with it?

ME: To be perfectly honest I sust soon not even coat it like it is without it being fixed. I dont want my name on it because I refuse to do hack work.

    Customer: OK

ME: Ok I just ship it back as is? Or are you going to ship me a good one? Or do you want this one fixed?

Customer: Can you ship it back Coated? Or just sand blasted?

ME: Ive already stripped it and blasted it. If you dont want it fixed. Id rather ship it back uncoated. Like Ive already mentioned "I refuse to do hack work".

    Customer: OK

If you had coated that and the customer installed it would be you fault it leaked.

300xs blocks are terrible about rottin out @ the parting line around the bottom main bearing and the two rear powerheade studs. With those it might be more of a electrical / electrolisis thing.

P.S.S. Last week the Mrs. err ... I mean I fixed the pickup tube, put new O-rings in the gun , installed a new 1/2 x 5/32 ceramic tip . Emptied the dust bag and put about 2-3 qts of new 70 grit in "her" blast cabinet .
And run the air pressure from 30 to 80 psi ... and she still brings me parts with little black spots here and there that she says won't come off. Personally, I think it's operator error! I want parts put on my bench as clean as that rotted out plate .. even in the bottom of the "rot ravines"
Next week .. strict diet of Manatee and fried okra

Why would you send Uncle Bud in clean rotten stuff like that? I know you better. You be Nice to Moma she is a good girl. The only reason that plate looked so good is it still had residue from blasting on the black spots.

    Cousin Dave,
There was a lot of underlying messages in that ( those 2 ) post :

    # 1 ) Uncle Bud, Thank you for info shared about the art of media blasting
    # 2 ) To get a part that clean ( not a spec of paint ) I might see it a week and two compressor heads later .
    # 3) Don't matter where ya live, somebody will bring you garbage and try to pronounce you the new caretaker.
    # 4) The Mrs gets mad @ all of us equally when I mention Uncle Bud's manatee stew
    # 5) Even though she doesn't read here, vnemous is like an old refrigerator with a bad door seal ... can't hold nuttin ... I'll get my azz cracked, and he'll get his favorite... ... pickled okra

Well i told you I was going to be turning Chicken Manure into Chicken salad. And BTW because of a Text attack I received yesterday about posting that Nasty Corroded Adapter plate. I did this at no cost for the customer. Ive always tried to do this when I get attacked for trying to educate and help someone. But I will not be Powdercoating it. I wont be going into details as to the chain of events. But at this point Id prefer to simply wash my hands of this one. As soon as I receive the parts from Mercury i.e. Seals, Bushings etc and get them reinstalled then get paid for my work it gets shipped out..

Repaired with Splash Zone Underwater Epoxy from Fox Industries.. It literally needs to be Mixed underwater. Developed for the United States Navy to do Emergency Underwater Hull and Structural repairs. Impervious to salt water, Petroleum's and a variety of caustics. Fully cured has a tensile strength of 17000 PSI and can withstand up to 800 degs.
