They are not having any remorse. They can’t keep up with demand on the new motors and the remanufacturing capability is nothing new, it’s been around for quite some time.
So, they expand their profitable remanufacturing division and have increased the sales of new product. No remorse here.Mark

Now if they just give us 225X and 300X full dress options we'll really be back in business.

Was at a huge bike shop the other day and was amazed to see 2 stroke dirt bikes from Yamaha, KTM and Beta I think.
Read the begging of a magazine test on the new YZ 250 and it started by saying, "if your tired of the 4 stroke droning sound, miss the seat of the pants acceleration, and $150 top end rebuilds instead of $1500, youre in luck".
Love it.I'd rather be competitive w/junk I built in my garage than win w/stuff I bought.
I refuse to allow common sense to interfere w/my boat buying decisions.

I've been told the optimax tooling at merc is wore out hence the switch to four strokes. Pretty cool they're still going to hand build complete powerheads including the 300xs.

" if you like the 2 stroke acceleration"
" older boats were built for the lightweight 2 strokes"
I wonder if someone will make adapters to fit the 2 stroke PH's on the new 4 stroke mids for a quick and cheap upgrade? lol

Roman power heads from merc have been around for a good while. Nothing new, just marketing to remind everyone

Complete reman powerhead is just marketing strategy to get rid of unsold parts at the factory that no one (boats.net,marineengine)wants to buy because the optimax has been discontinued.
