Must have been smokin crack when looked at being able to stuff the reed cages down in front, not much room for reed stops and screws to lower cages into front without modifications, must have threw the bare cage in there with no reed stops or screws. If I was to tighten the crankcase on these, looks like doing it in the crankcase with epoxy would be the way to go. Keeping this one mostly stock except for few minor adjustments, so no changes in cc volume on this one.

Alright, got some time to fool with mota this evening and got to actually mock it up and take some measurements instead of crossed eyeballing crack smoking method. On this particular mota, you actually got 0.125 clearance to stuff the reeds toward the crankcase before running into clearance issues and modifications. This one only got 0.030.

No O-ring grooves to recut .. these are gonna be easy ..
Lets see, gonna need a platform ..
Couple of 3 x 7's
Straighten em up a little
Drill some hold down bolt holes
Countersink em
Gonna need some pockets for the injector bosses to sit in
The bad head is welded, I still have to angle drill and tap the platform's . Maybe put a couple 8mm dowel's in to keep the head from walking . Cross that bridge as they say ..
I originally bought this multi-cutter head to do blocks. Because a single cutter deal had to run so slow to keep it from bouncing across the dissimilar metals which would leave streaks. This thing is so ******* heavy and always has a cutter touching, I use it for heads and blocks now.
I had to Make up a correct cutter for the Yamaha chamber too, at least we have one now ...

Ok, for you HPDI owners, today I replaced the high pressure pump screens. From what I’m seeing, these things cause all kind of problems and get overlooked. Should be a regular maintenance item.
I removed the top section of the pumps (parts where the lines go into). Used a small screw to screw into screen and get ahold of it, then used a pair of side cutters and rolled the screw upwards using the shape of the cutters against the body. Then used a pin punch with a larger diameter than the screens and gently tapped the new ones into place.

Are these considered the "hidden' screens on the HPDI? I know there are many sets to your point. Amazing the gentle touch required for maintenance.
