Busy as all get up, already this morning I’ve programmed an abs module another guy installed, installed a coupler in an electronic steering column on a Hyundai, the amg Mercedes, testing an overheating issue in an infinity, and pulling an intake on a tundra to repair some knock sensor wires. It’s been crazy around here!
Yes we’ve done quite a few deletes. We’re normally deleting them after they’ve already taken a dump. We replace the cam, lifters with non afm,oil pump (sometimes when lifter craps the spring pieces will get sucked in pump), timing kit, new valley plate without afm, and race shop down the road from us tunes it outLast edited by FORBESAUTO; 03-25-2019 at 01:14 PM.

What's it usually cost for the delete , I run around in 5th gear so it dont go into 4cyl mode , but using oil driven me crazy 130k miles still runnin fine (prob cause I dont let it go into afm mode)

To change all the parts after it’s broken as I described its $3000-$3500. Lot of guys just tune it out so it doesn’t activate. That’s just the cost of the tune. I’m guessing the lifters probably wouldn’t fail if the oil was never turned off and they functioned like a lifter was intended to work.

Six petal rubber coated reeds, with some serious restriction on the outer openings from the cage bolt bosses.
Installed Chris Carson reeds with factory stops. Has lots of room to stuff them down, but not sure how it would work with having to install the intake in a downward motion, if you would run into clearance problems during installation. I may play with this to see if stuffers could be used once I’m done with all the reeds

Uses a bi-layer metal head gasket. Chaz and I have agreed on going to 72 cc on heads and lowered the spark plug hole sealing surface to get the plug body down flush in the chamber. Finally got bearing in and staring back in putting it together. Got the front half out on and working on reeds. Been kinda strapped for time as been having to overtime in shop to head above water

Not sure if I mentioned this but modifying the factory airbox was worth a repeatable 2 mph on mine. Consider cutting tuner as well.

I cut more openings on the backside of it and cut out some internal braces. I made 2 large openings on the port side since it had none. You have to leave the front intact because it is needed to gather oil that dribbles out of the crankcase when its trimmed up. There’s a hose at the bottom that sucks it out when started so that has to stay too.
