Most of the stuff from HT can be replicated by a good machinist. Cut heads, cut tuner, cut reed cages, etc. I found the biggest improvement to be a modified airbox. My old boat picked up about 2 mph by opening up the rear of the airbox. Complete removal was a bad idea though.

Yeah, I’m working on him to let us get the heads cut, thinking I do better than the $690 Hrdra tec wants for the heads.

Any 300 needing work kicking around on the cheap? Build that and swap if it bolts up.

Something I’m gonna address during build is gonna be fixing the larger crankcase volume on cylinders 3 and 5 from where it’s opened up for the center main bolts. I got a few ideas with epoxy to resolve. I’ll post pics of modifications, when I complete itClick image for larger version.

Yep lol, changed the ex ports up a little. Fixed a bunch of block to sleeve mismatch and inconsistencies from bank to bank. I’ll get some pics up. Got my hands on a new 300 sleeve and my speculation was correct, only difference in porting is on the exhaust port. Transfers identical. Started my fix for front half, if it comes out worth a hoot it’s gonna be cool and ill also post pics

Unfinished plugs I’m making to fill the center main cavities in cylinders 3 and 5. Wanted to make sure they fit snug and would lock in place before doing the final trimming and smoothing. Thinking about making a spare set to use as patterns and get someone to make some out of Teflon or billet or something.

Some shots of a 300 sleeve ports if anyone interested. Ex port 1.860 compared to 2.050 of 225 and pretty flat tapers off approx 0.030 transfer 2.572 same, booster 2.635 compared to 2.660 on 225, booster is wider 1.610 compared to 1.460(short straight across distance. Behind the liner porting would have to be done to take advantage of the wider 300 booster. The transfer lower ports are higher 5.085 to 5.142 -same width. Booster lower port also higher 4.524 to 4.550 also same width. .Click image for larger version.

Got the sleeve swapped out and porting done. On this build I’m not changing transfers, booster, or lower ports, only cleaning up block behind the liner to make smooth transition to ports. I’m raising the exhaust port to yield 24 degrees blowdown, but putting more arch in top of port than the 300 to make more bottom end and mid range to better suit the boat it’s going on. Porting is done except on new sleeve. I’ll post pics of what I’ve done when get back in shop and finish up new sleeve and clean block up.
