TOWER OF POWER !!! Inline 6

So when are we gunna start calling the new verado "TOWER OF POWER" ? Because the 400 verado is clearly way cooler than the old school merc.

    Both inline 6 !

Think the lower units are interchangeable?

I’m with the OP. Worked on and rebuilt many of those ole POS’s. Melted 1, 3, and 5 often, hard to access the engine with that cowling support frame, wires disentegrating, distributor (if so equipped) nearly impossible to install. Give me a modern, reliable, efi 4-stroke 400 hp tower of power anyday.

Very cool old motors. I have 3 of them and gotta admit I would rather eat worms than work on em.

Pulling powerheads off them are a nightmare if they've ever seen salt ! ! !
But yea, the wires also disintegrate off those old motors.

I wonder how many of these new plastic covered motors are going to be around and still running in 30 years.

He is correct about loading six pistons in six blind holes with eighteen rings, then "dink" broke a ring, start all over, but still love 'em.

But that's all we knew back then. BP stacker is one of the coolest motors of all time in my opinion.

    Damn that thing is beautiful!

I had a 115 HP straight six on one of my first boats. That was one sweet motor! I did learn to hate the engine cowl though.
