TOWER OF POWER !!! Inline 6
So when are we gunna start calling the new verado "TOWER OF POWER" ? Because the 400 verado is clearly way cooler than the old school merc.
Both inline 6 !
Think the lower units are interchangeable?1) 1995 14' Bayliner Restoration <--Click

I’m with the OP. Worked on and rebuilt many of those ole POS’s. Melted 1, 3, and 5 often, hard to access the engine with that cowling support frame, wires disentegrating, distributor (if so equipped) nearly impossible to install. Give me a modern, reliable, efi 4-stroke 400 hp tower of power anyday.

Very cool old motors. I have 3 of them and gotta admit I would rather eat worms than work on em.

Pulling powerheads off them are a nightmare if they've ever seen salt ! ! !
But yea, the wires also disintegrate off those old motors.
I wonder how many of these new plastic covered motors are going to be around and still running in 30 years.1) 1995 14' Bayliner Restoration <--Click
