NASCAR cup series
We all know nascar sucks with the 3 stage racing system [ can't we all win and get participant trophys ] Now they want to reduce horsepower from 750hp to 550hp for 17 of the 36 races to make it even worse to watch.Kind of like put a merc 150hp fishing 2 liter on a champ boat and amaze the fans with more bull****. Maybe the dems and the libs are trying to ruin this sport and finish off nascar too.
I may be slow but im ahead of you. *hit's only ankle deep but you went in head first.

Throw the rule book out the window, big cubes, aero nose, wings, no restrictors, any year body from 60s up, lead or get out of the way.

I stopped watching NASCAR years ago because of their restrictive B.S. and unfair changes. The stage racing allows everyone to catch up to the leader and that silly rule of allowing drivers to come back to the lead lap after they have been lapped...... maybe next, they will just give everyone identical cars and make them all pit at the same time whether they need to or not

I watched King Richard take the win at a track in NJ somewhere in about '66 in that light blue Plymouth, got his autograph and Buddy Bakers in about '68 in Daytona. when the youngsters, Jeff Gorden and lil E took retirement I realized I have been around for a long time. I could not even name a driver today except maby that kid in the blue car that everybody says cheats,,, Jimmy Johnson ???

In the process of trying to make a good ol boy sport PC correct, they wreck the drawl it had, just a look at the few camera shoots of the stands tell all. In fact I heard you can by Bristol night race tickets at the gate, at one time there was a two year wait list! I stopped watching when they went to a spec car, spec motor and nascar controlled fuel injection ECM. They took the creative engineering out of it, for me that was the draw, just me 2 cents

I watched every race from the early 90's to about the end of 2016. I decided Nascar finally made it to bad to watch. On a positive note. I found that there are many good shows on tv to watch on Sunday.

IMO, they should go back to traditional races but shorten the races to 2 hours. Even when I watched Nascar I started loosing interest after 2 hours. And they should put Mike Helton back in charge.

from what I understand the truck races are the deal these days, very few restrictions as in no restrictor plates etc. always falls on an odd day in the week so it's inconvenient to do around work from jax

Mike did a great job. I'll look for the trucks, didn't think think they still ran them. Rams with ashtray option.

Got my pillow and blankie out for my huge nap, tried to watch whatever they raced yesterday, didn't make it to the national anthem before the best sleep I've had in weeks!

Why ya'll be bitching about NASCAR. Show me one motorsport, besides Isle of Mann, that has not tried to in some way control the top speeds. Drags only run 1000. Why, because they were getting way to fast for the existing tracks to accommodate. Drag boats the same. In 94 Bill Elliot ran a lap at Dega over 214. They asked him how fast the cars were going to get and he told the interviewer it made no difference to him cuz anything faster would have to bed driven by someone else as he had no interest in going any faster. Look at Formula 1. Tell me they don't sound lame compared to the old motors. Better yet Formula E.
So at 214 nearly 30 years ago how fast would they be now and where could they run. I have been at well over half of the tracks and have seen some horrendous accidents with several flinging parts into the crowd. Spectators getting injured will not advance your agenda. Fans not in the seats is a direct result of greed. In the 17 straight Talladega races I attended I watched tickets go from free to get em in the seats to $350 for two. We used to get to the track for the Busch race and there would be reps giving away tickets and now you need to buy tickets for the whole weekend or in some cases the entire season.
I also miss the innovation the sport created. Smokey Yunik practically wrote the rule book by pushing the limits set by NASCAR. With the threat from tree huggers (noise and air pollution) and their lawyers combined with advances in technology Nascar had no choice. Survival of the sport was the goal.

I will quote Smokey here. Instead of all these spec engines, restrictor plates and aero rule changes every time the cars start going to fast, take away cubic inches from the engine's, this way race driven tech advances will not suffer and will help to advance auto's in general
