    SOLD. Super nice 225 Promax

Mercury Racing 225 Promax with essentially a new powerhead. Engine was built with a new factory block, piston kits (WSM with 1.5mm rings), steel cage rod bearings, all new electrical components (regulators, stator, trigger & switch boxes). A32 ECU that was just serviced at Simon motorsports w/ a year warranty. New TDR reeds, injectors cleaned & flowed. All new cooling components - poppet valve, thermostats & waterpump. The engine has about 15 hours on it for break-in, testing and tuning. Factory Promax midsection, Alien Style Factory light weight cowls. Ratcheting 1.87 lower unit with welded Bobs cone lower water pickup and torque tab on skeg. Probably forgetting a bunch. The motor looks new and run great. A Promax I built that is identical to this one peaked at 242 HP on the dyno. The only reason I’m selling it as I just bought my old 280 back and something has to go. Motor can be demonstrated and installation is available. Trades-ins of similar Mercury outboards will be considered. $7800 Firm, Call or Text me (Mark) at 757-84six-897one.

UPDATED COMPRESSION READINGS. Readings were taken with engine warm and throttle open. Also verified the readings with 2 different Snap-on compression gages. They didn't change much from the original cold readings.
    Leakdown was less than 4%.

Back to the top. This powerhead is exceptionally clean and runs great. Built with all top shelf components. High quality piece.

242hp is spot on. We have tested two on the dyno. Nice piece for sure @ $7800

The charging system is a factory 40 amp system but with the lighter factory red flex plate flywheel ( used on the early model 40 amp systems). The flywheel has been indexed. The engine is essentially stock with some minor component upgrades. And before anyone asks, the heads are factory stock, not cut. I do have some other heads available to the buyer.

Those are really great compression numbers for stock heads and block.

Really nice package you got there....
