    Temp gauge

I am looking to install a temp-gauge setup on my 98 200 efi. I have to drill and tap the head for the setup i have. Is there a Better choice of sensor Port/Starboard head for a more accuracy. As of rite now looking to locate sensor on top of head in front of stat. Thank you

I like using water temp reading over had temp, just my preference. Think it reacts sooner. Just note that water temp runs about 30 degrees cooler than head temp would , so when your reading info on temps it doesn’t get confusing. When running one sensor it’s usually put it in the higher starboard head in flat area right behind thermostat.( can do it in either, just if I had to pick it would be stbd). I like running 2, one in each head, just to be able to monitor stats to make sure no trash in them and that it’s gettting up to operating temp. You should see atleast 140 and up to around 145 at idle with water temp senders. It’ll run around 110 running on the poppet valve.
