    The 2.0 Mercury is simply a bullet proof 150 that will do almost anything you ask it to do including rpms into the 7K range in stock configuration. It just runs and runs and runs.

    I find the 2.0L Merc noticeably better on fuel than my V4 Evinrude so thats worth noting. I can get really good mileage from the Rude but it has to be run at 3500 RPM or less where the Merc seems to still pull decent mileage rung out to 5000 or so. Im new to this 2.0L Merc but really digging it

    Thanks Its first mercury ob I have had always run evinrude and had good luck with then was thinking of trading for evinrude it was completely overhauled 3 yrs ago my merc shop glad for info think I will give it a try
