I have seen the name or possibly visited but - More knowledge of how a 5 blade carries a tunnel hull of 21--Eliminator - i think its going to bite good - better than any3 blade or 4 blade but will possibly Rob an easy 5 mph possibly 10 . But understand an all around 4 blade that your currently running well - in my conversations with you - that same prop I believe is similar to a pro max - not certain but believe a similar cut . I further believe or understand is - put more cup in a similar prop or same and it will carry more load/ people / fuel . I wish a more thorough explanation on it but most guys are out running right now - . I think slowing down realize set up is key , stay with what your running - possibly understand the hull and characteristic with the power you are running 250 xs has to be a nice power .I believe the 21 is a great size I may have chose too small at 19 - but I was immature in what I should have - larger at least 21. . Look what Randy Corson is setting on his - supernice .There are many running 300 and I think they cruise really nice - not certain . . So let' see if the forum can provide some PROP TALK . I know I could use the discussion ..I just recieved a 26 pitch ET 3 blade - give me a couple days . Thanks for the prop Randy C . Glad to recieve it . A 4 blade in a pro ET is coming to the address soooon. Same pitch , .

I ran the new to me prop - ET 26 - leading edge of blades have some little warbles in them but used . Ran out okay - raised the clamp up another 3/4 " running now at 1.5" above pad/centre sponson. Big improvement ! Hull now running out effortless . A fair bit of traffic and gulls but finding an easy run to 80 uneventful at 6500 rpm and cruises with confidence. So I'm seeing about 10% slip . Thanks to members here suggesting raising the motor further . The nose is basically sitting behind transom plug albeit 8" off the transom . So moved forward -26 pitch is still winding it' way towards 7000 rpm but I' will leave it alone and just continue running some fuel through it with this new setting . Sure wish the transom jack had of fit . This could have been figured out quicker. Thanks again to the membership and my continual leaning on them for tech on the assistance .

I had that same boat. Eliminator Daytona 19 with a JSRE built 245 carby. It had a CLE lower unit and mounted to an electric jack plate with quite a bit more setback than yours. I settled on a tweaked (leading edge propeller built it for me) merc ET 26 after about 10 other props tested. It netted me the best overall performance all around and did 102mph GPS @ 8200 rpm. All the way up on the jack for full speed put the propshaft just above the center pod. I'd lower it a bit for cruising and holeshot. If I still had it I'd give you some more accurate measurements.

Mr Reed - glad to hear from you and the old rides performance - thanks for the prop tip , I am finding a 26 et a great prop and a pro ET is next up . I missed the purchase of your boat and motor due to shipping . Big mistake , you were a great guy to deal with . This is what I am finding - at around 80 the hull and motor come on strong - not certain if it lifted or aired out better or I am in a great powerband but it started to bobble a touch from sponson to sponson and I looked at speedo and saw 86.7 and felt I needed to back away from , but was certainly accelerating well and was easilly going to run higher . So am I experiencing a ride on the sporty at that point and I need to raise a touch - is that what causes the chine walk if you can call it that or ? I got a little timid but if you had run up into 100 I'm suspecting you had found similar rides of the same bobble . Send me your number if you would in pm . Thanks and that boat and motor package was missed still today . I did end up with a nice Kevlar built boat and stepped up to this 200xs but missed your deal greatly .

Good to see you found a boat. I certainly miss mine. I feel like I had it dialed in as best it could get. No chine walk or bad behavior unless you chopped the throttle at high speed, which is a no no on any platform. Having the electric jackplate adustable on the fly was huge, I messed with engine height almost as much as trim. Dual turn signal switches were key. PM sent, give me a holler anytime brother!

Okay - still need some input on this setup . Been leaning on Joseph P and Randy and members providing props . 1# known is centre running surface/pod 16 inches wide and flat with a 1 " notch on either side - be aware the centre pod is 1 inch deeper than outer sponsons. . Last running of this setting 1 1/2 " above pad - Sporty tip is pointed at hull plug and 8 " from transum . 86-7 and it started a nice lift and a little bobble sponson to sponson and I backed away and - suspected and spoke to a member and about -* i was possibly riding the Sporty but now I know the centre running surface of the pad is deeper as well by that inch . Any way I have a manual jack plate but it wasn' a quick bolt on due to some interesting /stock transom setback bracket .
So take a close look here at these pics and give me a hand in picking a new seastar jackplate - 4 " to 10 inch .I believe the above member was using a 10inch and ran well .26 pitch promax on the shaft now just removed ET 26 - ran out well and a good quick lift into the 80s - i didn'. See tach but I believe I just ran into 6500 -heading towards 7limiter . But like I stated this bobble reminded me to go carefully and ask some known characteristics and to seek members input. And make a good solid decision on this .Last edited by kellytheaker; 09-02-2019 at 02:37 PM. Reason: Improved

These pictures should have started this thread on setting up and props . I know now a 26 ET - and trying a 4 blade is up but weather is off - thinking of you all battening down stay safe . So I have cobbled a rig together and before i start minimizing cables and such I'm trying to get some solid advice on how much jackplate . Offshore clamp so I have 2.5 add. To total ..and dealing with factory adustible setback bracket that if you look closely - that 3/8 adustible plate is low - scooping water I would think . So to address the additional setback for a jack plate and it wants 7 strong inches to clear steering -just a thought. If we'e to drop the jack . More importanty what was a good distance . I' currently 8 inches off the transom . Sporty leading edge to transom and 1.5 up. . So I don' want to notch out the transom and centre pod. So there have been a proven size I would have thought , that guys were running well at . - given the lack of notch . I do have a 4 inch manual plate that would need a 3/4 spacer to clear existing bolts and install but I believe I'm marginalizing a good opportunity to get it far superior with correct setback and I think it' an 8" or 10 " to allow it to clear stearing ram - be buried better if i want or raise it and run excellent . Speak up if you ran this stuff back 40 years now . This is an 80 , and its a nice example of what the crew at Eliminator were up to , I am super pleased with performance and build of the hull and coreing Plus the aluminum bracing and transom bracket has been well done . I dont want to toss that portion either , so please understand let' keep those items intact . Leaning towards a Seastar unit but educate me if a better plan .And ... even though this hull 19' is Kevlar- the addtional weight of the motor 200xs offshore clamp has got it at the rubrail or just an inch or 2 below , but she is lacking freeboard . We all know that . I believe the unit - hydrolic jack will add another 60lbs or so plus the distance back .
