that is a Shakespeare 6.0..
Good boats that go pretty well.
that one used to be down the south coast, Poole / Bournemouth area.. think I might have spotted it off studland bay a good few years back.
if it is the one I think I remember it can jump some serious waves.
check this page out for info about the boats....

Thanks for the help identifying the boat! Looks like you might be onto something. Looking to make a screen similar to the one in that post actually
The second gasket has arrived, I'll tackle the job this weekend and report back with pictures
I've made a new loom from coils to switch boxes, used some high quality silicone wire. The stator will be replaced , it runs on muffs well but resistance readings differ and charging output non existent with some dodgy looking wires.
Does anyone know where a water pressure gauge can be plumbed in on the old 2.4 mercs?
Much appreciate the help
Chris

It doesn't have a hose going to the poppet its the older style I think. From memory it has a large grub style screw in between the heads. Will take pics at weekend

This weekend most of our effort have been focused on the hull. However this afternoon I lifted off the powerhead and started cleaning the gasket faces
I've noticed a little black residue around the bottom crank seal and it looks a little tired. Almost like someone attempted to remove and gave up. The housing it very slightly damaged, that doesn't concern me.
Is it worth me changing the seal now whilst the power head is off? It ran great on the muffs. My own experience with two stokes is little single cylinder bike engines.. A bad crank seal would play havoc with the mixture and the bike wouldn't idle... With it being a v6 could the problem be "hidden" in regards to the running symptoms?
It looks an easy job?
Pics will follow.

I've found a gasket kit super cheap online, has anyone had any experience with "morse" gaskets
ebay item number: 162369307441

I had the same happen to mine. My driveshaft was full with oil.
Oil collects in the lower part of the block and than goes via the bleed lines to the top of the block where it lubricated the top bearing.
So I would have it fixed because the oil is just leaking through so your bearings dont get the oil they should.
