Mercury 150 four stroke / Allison Grand Sport
We put the modified lower unit on, and tested it. The gas mileage is incredible. This was the first time out with the low water, nosecone, with some adjustments, 78 should be attainable. https://www.wavetowave.com/home/2019...on-grand-sport

Boat looks flat in the video. With that long nosecone on the gearcase, you should be able to safely go above the pad. Not sure the ProMax will be your best top end prop either. Great for loads and cruising, but to get all out top end, may want to try a larger pitched 3-blade. (Hoss, ET, etc)

I did read the article. Appears that you’re waiting on a trophy and you’re moving the engine up a hole on the plate. The trophy’s in a 26” pitch were great all around props on these hulls but the larger pitches for some reason didn’t work as well.
Based on on your numbers the slip appears to be good as it’s in the 6%-7% range. (Think the first article said this engine had 1.92 gears).
Curious on why no on a 3-blade?
Are you running some counterweight on the passenger side? Don’t remember if it said in the articles. Little bit of height and little bit of pitch, I bet 80 is possible.2006 Spectre 24' SCS

Ya, 1.92. I need to have a little more counter weight, only have 12 lbs there now. I prefer the 4 blades at that height. I'm almost sure 78 is in the cards. 80, possibly

I have a 25 lb bag that I use and run in the passenger gunnel when solo. I also changed my driver seat to slide sideways instead of front/rear.
Good of luck chasing 80. That 150 is a great little motor. I drove one a couple years ago on a 19’ Tracker that would run an honest 65.2006 Spectre 24' SCS

Good article. I wonder how much more you would see with a Pro XS?
