So how many times do you have to beat your opinion drum to get your point across?

So falsely stating the reeds were cracked was an opinion? Even though nothing was mentioned about a crack? That is perpetuating false information. The OP also said:
The above are reeds that should live well in every day use.
LMAO!!! What a tool! I am not upset, I just think he, and now you are doing this forum an injustice. But carry on. I know nothing and have no real world experience to give back.

I have used Carson and Boyesen both are really good. But when I built my last two evinrude 95 motors I used Boyesen(just my preference) plus they don't use the Reed stops(to me a plus) and after one of my last motors ate a Reed stop just wasn't looking to have the stops in there again.Click image for larger version.

I did read that and thought maybe spell check or typo, well so what u think he meant by spit? The reed just broke completely off and motor spit it out? Guess that's little worse than the "split" or crack ?

Had a slight spit out carb on fire up that cleared as soon as running. Due to having a couple that had about .010 opening. None were broken or cracked and made the same power as on first fire up.

Mrichartz the stops in your photo are the early version the later ones have more material before opening between each stop.

Ok. Due to running issues I've pulled all the carbs off and took the reed plate off. The reeds are steel. Gonna rebuild the carbs. Should I change reeds? I was told they were boyeson reeds.

You could put Boyesen in replacing the steel.
