Not my words, something I copied off of this site after using the search feature. I forget who this was, sorry.

    Lapping reed cages-Rub in a Figure 8 motion on a 12”x12”x1/4”
sheet of glass , first clean cage and spray surface to be lapped with machinist lay out dye let it dry then rub on 220 wet and dry sandpaper till all dye is removed then go over it with 400 to give it a smoother texture ..

I thought that was you, but did not want to screw up and maybe make someone mad. I have read lots of your posts recently trying to learn some stuff. Thank you for the time you put in here.

On Stokers dyno my 4.4 V8 rude using a set of reeds from TDR lost 22 hp to a set of Boysen reeds. 428hp TDR vs 450hp Boysen. I ran the TDR reeds anyway to see how long they would last. I ran the engine for 4 seasons and 160 hours when I had a problem with one of the exhaust ports leaking water into the cylinder that caused me to remove the engine. The reeds looked like new when I tore it down.

I freshen up motors with the TDR reeds installed all the time from all out race to recreational inspect and put the same reeds back in , my ME high points champion Gary Henning sent me Drag with 360 10,500 rpm passes to refresh , the motors was just about to self destruct caught it in time , I refreshed motor put same reeds back in next week end he won high points championship at Firebird world finals ...

I’d like to say , in a open forum Im not going to knock anyone’s products lots of great products on the market, I’m reporting what performance and longevity I see using the TDR reeds and other products that’s hit

1000 out of the box , choose what reed and or any product you choose still a free country till the socialist gain power ... )))

Well said Jay, I hope that no one took my post as a bash on TDR reeds. That was not my intention at all. Those reeds ran a long time and like I said they looked like they came out of the original packaging when I tore the motor down.
